It sounds to me like Microsoft. Get into negotiations and float an
idea, then change their minds (it is their right). In the meantime,
their definition of words differs from that of their negotiating
partner. And Microsoft can use the confusion to tar the other guy, by
implication:
However, Microsoft hinted that in the future, Negroponte might not be
the best spokesman for anything about the XO related to the software
giant. When it comes to the progress of the Windows-based XO,
"Microsoft recommends contacting the company directly for any further
updates," it said in a statement.
In any case, I sure hope that OLPC charges MS a license fee to place
their OS on the OLPC.
