he insisted on several times (including 1-2 months ago) that there won't be an
iPhone. I think Gates said the same thing, but I can't recall for sure.
The Zune was a mistake big enough. They can't afford any more with just $26
billion left in the bank (it's about the same amount as Apple, to put things
in perspective!). It's a shame they didn't buy Yahoo. It would have put them
in /DEBT/ of roughly $26 billion (assuming a ~$49 billion sale).
If you pine for the sight of an injured Microsoft, very fun times are ahead.
Two consecutive quarters so far have left Microsoft unable to fake (the stock
collapsed in both cases).
