Oh, it's great to sit in a college campus posting SPAM 24x7 demanding that
corporations give up patent rights, give away their hard work for free,
open source their software etc....
Try not to be such a dumbfuck flattie. Being against software patents
does not mean that you expect anybody to give anything away for free.
Copyright protection is more than sufficient for software packages.
Patent protection is only required as barriers to competition.
So?

Do you think Roy Schestowitz will share his ideas with the competition?

He won't stay employed for very long.

He expects ATI, Nvidia, AMD to release their source code

What about his works?

You are blurring the lines between ideas and source code - just like the
rest of the patent-IP brigade do when they push for their draconian
measures.

IBM, Intel and many other companies share their kernel code. It empowers them
all. Even the drug discovery sector has begun adoption the same concept where
research is shared for everyone's benefit. Those who stay out with 'trade
secret' will lose.

I would applaud them for doing so. I also applaud any proprietary company for having the balls to develop and take to market their particular product. What I will not and cannot agree with is any entity saying "this is my model, this is my product and nobody else is allowed to compete with me". Its called choice. Its called competition and it is a good thing. Patent rights which were mentioned by yourself in the OP are something completely different. And completely bogus to boot.
