Steve Ballmer Has No Shame
,----[ Quote ]
| One of Kawasaki's more pointed questions: "What's the deal with Vista?
| Seriously."
|
| Ballmer's response was surprising. He reached over and tried to snatch
| Kawasaki's MacBook Air from his lap. "Let me see that thing?" Ballmer
| crowed. "You got Vista on that thing?" Kawasaki prodded about using a "little
| computer like this." Ballmer held up the Air and then tossed it back,
| bragging, "This is heavier than my PC. It's true! That thing is heavier than
| the Toshiba that I carry." For anyone watching the stream, the exchange
| occurred about 27 minutes into the Q&A.
|
| Ballmer was quite playful, yet pushy. When Kawasaki defended his Air, Ballmer
| interjected about missing features. "Where's your DVD drive?" he asked,
| snatching the computer from Kawasaki's lap. The interchange, while funny,
| showed something of Ballmer's real feelings about Macs. Something more:
| Ballmer avoided answering the Vista question.

Maybe he's just demented or something. Why does he just fling everything he
touches? Sure it's a bit ad hominem, but is this guy even human? He drove the
company into the ground (almost in debt now).

How To Make A Microserf Smile

| When Ballmer floated the HR job in April, 2005, Brummel said: No way. But
| Ballmer wasn't about to take no for an answer. Picking up a traveling golf
| putter, the Microsoft chief started taking it apart as he barreled around
| Brummel's office, hammering home why she was the perfect candidate. As an
| outsider unsullied by HR dogma, he said, she'd bring a fresh approach.
| Besides, Ballmer argued, Brummel was hugely popular and had the people skills
| to get the job done. The two went back and forth, with Ballmer slapping
| Brummel's whiteboard for emphasis and Brummel parrying with: "But I love
| doing products." After more than two hours, Ballmer ended the meeting. By
| then the putter was in pieces. "Sorry about the golf club," he said.

| "The word 'intense' was invented for Ballmer, who met with us in a

| The usually boisterous Ballmer became unexpectedly quiet and soon

| Ballmer's tendency to loudly and enthusiastically express himself is well
