Microsoft doesn't need open source

| agreements with Novell and others, which actually do nothing more than bind
| otherwise open-source success to Microsoft's proprietary technology.

So they think they can bribe, steal, bully and lie (like they did for an ISO)
to get something proprietary like OOXML called a 'standard'? For all it seems,
Microsoft won't escape fines in this way. It will get **more** of them for the
way it sabotaged ISO.

UK standards body taken to court over OOXML

EC probes OOXML standards-setting process
