Borland destroyed themselves. They were too quick to ditch support for their platforms for the next big thing, going from one bright idea to another with wild abandon, leaving a massive trail of disenfranchised developers stuck on an obsolete platform in their wake. Shame really, because in the days around the launch of win 3.1 Borland were a great company with great minds producing great stuff.
