T-Mobile's Dream Is a Distraction
,----[ Quote ]
| So pretty much every manufacturer is searching for a next-generation platform
| for its feature phones. A lot of them are looking to Linux, because it's
| stable, scalable, powerful, and free-ish. Motorola's version of Linux is
| called MotoMAGX, and it runs on the company's RAZR2 V8 for T-Mobile. The
| Linux Mobile (LiMo) Consortium is trying to come up with another Linux-based
| alternative, though it's not quite there yet. Google wants Android to become
| the go-to version of Linux for manufacturers who don't feel like rolling
| their own, want to work with a common standard, and crave some of that Google
| software love.
