I found that Simply Mepis is a really fine Distro, but I have come to
realise I prefer Gnome over KDE, especially as KDE 4x may well eventually
replace 3.5x. I personally do not like KDE 4.
I especially like the idea of having a base distribution and having a
rolling release like Mepis over a pre-determined release cycle that seems
to be the norm for most distros. I feel that 6 month releases can not
give enough time for testing from Alfa to final, and that the distro can
suffer when users upgrade on the release day and things go wrong for them.
Warren takes his time, but I also worry that Mepis could one day suffer
like PClos is at this time.
