It's the same with TCO. The genesis of the term comes from a Microsoft-Gartner
deal.
Regarding IDC, they intentionally count just /revenue/ on /sales/ from /big
vendors/. They keep it consistent so as to be comparable.
Both Gartner and IDC were caught engaging in corruption with Microsoft.
