Microsoft, Linux Foundation issue joint letter opposing proposed
software-licensing principles
,----[ Quote ]
| Truth can, indeed, be stranger than fiction — as is evidenced by a May 14
| letter on software-licensing policies that was signed by both Microsoft and
| Linux Foundation officials.
|
| The letter, which the two sent to to the American Law Institute (ALI), was
| designed to “express our shared concerns with the group’s draft Principles of
| the Law of Software Contracts,” according to a blog post by Horacio
| Gutierrez, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.

Best Friends Forever: Microsoft and the Linux Foundation?
http://www.techflash.com/microsoft/Best_Friends_Forever_Microsoft_and_the_Linux_Foundation_45300837.html
Just because they agree on something doesn't mean that they are "Best Friends
Forever". Microsoft is still racketeering and it should be
fined/jailed/embargoed for it in a saner world.

| Ah, yes. Mono. Once again. And OOXML. Might governmental agencies wish to
| particularly take note of OOXML in light of the TomTom settlement? I would
| think so. And .NET and Silverlight. Perhaps you can think of others.

| Wake up. Microsoft should be treated like Microsoft.
|
| It is what it is. It is what it always has been.
|
| Microsoft asked recently to be judged by its actions, not its words. OK. The
| TomTom settlement *is* Microsoft actions. We watched it, and we judge them by
| it.
