| networking time, LinuxCon is a testament to the same Linux Foundation
| strategy of packing every session with great speaking talent and interesting

| see we really havenât changed at all.

| OK, the fun part: was there a moment when you honestly wondered if youâd be
| able to pull the conference off?

| My mind goes back to the genesis of Linuxcon. The Linux Plumbers Conference
| community team approached us about starting a bigger and more broad Linux
| conference, and I thought it was a great idea. There is a need for something
| technical, fun and community-based (not run by a for profit who is most
| interested in money). The only time I wondered if we would pull it off was
| during the presentation on Linuxcon I gave to the board of directors of the
| Linux Foundation. I did my spiel and then held my breath during a short pause
| before they responded. Soon enough they all just started asking question and
| agreed that it was a great idea. Ever since then itâs been smooth sailing.

Early Birds: Last Day to Catch the LinuxCon Worm

| isn't several months away, however, is the deadline for Early Bird

| The first annual LinuxCon, to be held in Portland, Oregon, will run from
| September 21 - 23, immediately before the second annual Linux Plumber's
| Conference, to be held September 23 - 25. The conference is one of, if not
| the, first Linux Foundation conferences to feature an open invitation to all
| Linux users â most of the foundation's events are by invitation only.

The Linux Foundation Welcomes mimio To the Fold

| roster of the Linux Foundation is a terrific way to reinforce that open
