Major gains for Red Hat demands increased commitment from partners

,----[ Quote ]
| In an effort to keep up with the demand for
| Red Hat software and services, Red Hatâs
| Advanced Partner, LinuxIT, in the UK has more
| than tripled its Red Hat Certifications in
| 2009.
| In line with Red Hatâs 25% revenue growth this
| year, LinuxIT Europe has seen a massive
| increase in demand for Red Hat Enterprise
| Linux. In a difficult economy there has been
| a surge in spending on Red Hat Enterprise
| Linux and associated professional services;
| and there is no sign of it abating.

Red Hat Named Large Technology Company of the Year by North Carolina Technology Association

,----[ Quote ]
| Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's
| leading provider of open source solutions,
| today announced it has been named Large
| Technology Company of the Year by the North
| Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) in
| its 2009 NCTA 21 Awards. The criteria for
| this award include annual revenue of more
| than $100 million, market leadership,
| employment growth, innovation and profit
| margin. Other finalists in the Large
| Technology Company category included Epic
| Games, Inc., Microsoft Corporation and

Health check: Red Hat - This year's model

,----[ Quote ]
| Red Hat has long been the poster child of
| Linux and open source, the distribution
| that has been there since the beginning,
| grew up right, got all the luck, usually
| made the right decisions, and fetched up
| on top of the pile.
| Staying at the top of the pile may present
| a different set of problems. Free and open
| source software has made its presence
| felt, the operating system has become
| increasingly commoditised, free software
| is rising up the stack, cloud computing
| and virtualisation are transforming the
| market for operating systems, and open
| source (in some form or another) is being
| adopted or proclaimed by many different
| companies.
