Firefox runs well on Wine, but this totally ignorew the bloat of underlying 
Windows, which is a resource hog. For XP the comparison might make sense, but
XP is dead.

Ubuntu 9.10 has made improvements by preloading some Firefox-related stuff. 
OpenOffice.org takes just a few seconds to start (fresh start).
