Gitorious or GitHub?

,----[ Quote ]
| Gitorious
|
| Pros:
| - Has the latest commits right up front,
| providing a good overview of what's been
| happening and what's available.
| - The wiki-type front pages are a bit
| easier to navigate. The whole site feels
| less cluttered than GitHub.
| - Much easier to see up front who's part of
| a project and who's cloned it.
|
| Cons:
| - Gitorious takes longer when searching for
| stuff; it's also a little slower just to
| click through trees and links, like the
| Neuvoo project.
| - Business model? What business model? How
| are they gonna stay open on down the road?
| - Doesn't seem to offer private repos,
| should I need one in the future.

Let there be light

,----[ Quote ]
| So, a few days back, I started with an idea
| of a periodic summary of what is going on
| around the Vala programming language,
| mainly for those subscribed to the mailing
| list who are not that much interested in
| bugzilla.

Recent:

[Fedora] The move to git

,----[ Quote ]
| The time has come to bite the bullet and move
| Fedora's package source control on from CVS.
| CVS has done is well, and although it is a
| decaying source control, it handled our needs
| rather well for many years. However nothing is
| a constant, and over time more and more cracks
| have shown up in our source control. The time
| to move on is now, and I feel pretty confident
| in the plan we are exploring.

Pro Git book released

,----[ Quote ]
| Just a heads up - I've been working on a book on Git being published
| by Apress called "Pro Git", which is being licensed under a CC 3.0
| license and as I've just finished some of the final reviews, I've put
| the entire content of the book online at:
