Council Meeting Summary
,----[ Quote ]
| Ideas seemed to converge on how to vote by
| email but it was noted that this would
| constitute a change of GLEP39 which the
| council can't modify without an all-developers
| vote. Since there were already other changes
| planned or suggested to GLEP 39 it was decided
| that the council would work on a new text and
| submit it to a vote when ready. Calchan has
| volunteered to gather all ideas and work on
| the text.

Pardus: A Linux distribution for the end user
,----[ Quote ]
| Of course when I say leopard, with regards to
| anything computer, you think Mac OS X. Not
| this time. This time weâre talking about a
| different flavor of Linux â Pardus.Pardus is
| developed in Turkey and named after the
| Anatolian leopard. Itâs goal is to be a
| complete distribution that new users can use
| with little introduction to Linux. It takes
| advantage of KDE 4 and offers a very user-
| centric experience.
|
| Pardus has a few features that most will have
| never heard of or seen before. In this article
| I will introduce you to some of these features
| as I introduce you to Pardus Linux.

Pardus 2009.1 Review
,----[ Quote ]
| All in all, Pardus is an excellent
| distribution, a pleasant surprise to people
| like me who like to pick random distros on
| distrowatch and try them. I almost had a
| religious experience with it, amazed at how
| well a distribution could be made at great
| detail. Back in the Pardus 2009 days, I
| remember all linux distros failed to bring an
| out of the box stable KDE 4 system that looked
| nice, but Pardus did that, and now with KDE
| 4.3 itâs even better. Unfortunately their lack
| of packages made me switch to another
| distribution after a couple of days, but it is
| perfect for people who donât demand a big
| collection of packages, the everyday man/woman
| who just want to work using the usual tools.
| If you want to recommend a very nice, stable
| and functional KDE distribution you should
| really take Pardus into consideration.
