Our Top 10 Reasons To Use Fedora

,----[ Quote ]
| 1) Fedora offers the freedom of changing,
| replacing, modifying each component in the
| system;
| without the concern of the system
| stability being affected.
| 2) Fedora has High quality support in the
| form of User forums, IRCs, Wikis and
| Official guides.
| 3) Fedora can be carried on CD or a
| jumpdrive to use Live on any computer.
| 4) Fedora provides a set of graphical tools
| for building a customized, updated Fedora
| "Spin".

Fedora Open Source and Open Heart

,----[ Quote ]
| This all would not be possible if it was
| not for the Fedora Community, so we thank
| everyone that is, has been and will be
| involved with Fedora. Let us all rocket to
| better places with the new and upcoming
| Fedora 13.

FWN Issue 218

,----[ Quote ]
| Welcome to Fedora Weekly News Issue 218 for
| the week ending March 21, 2010. What
| follows are some highlights from this
| issue.

FPL future.

,----[ Quote ]
| Itâs important that Fedora always be able
| to make opportunities for fresh and
| energetic leadership that will help take
| our Project, and the distribution we make,
| to the next level of achievement.
| Regardless of what Iâm doing next at Red
| Hat, part of my job early on will be to
| give as much assistance as possible to the
| next FPL, just as Max Spevack did for me,
| allowing that person to successfully take
| over this position, and continue leading
| Fedora into the future.

Fedora 13 Beta testing is underway

,----[ Quote ]
| Fedora 13 Beta is due to come out soon,
| with a following wind, and the QA group is
| already hard at work testing candidate
| builds.

Fedora edges closer to Debian development process

,----[ Quote ]
| Fedora's old way was to stop development at
| a certain point in Rawhide (the name of the
| development branch), stabilise, release,
| and then pick up development again. This
| meant that uploads to the development
| branch would have to cease until the
| release process was over.
| Fedora's new method is to split off the
| development branch at the point when it is
| deemed fit for stabilising and releasing.
| This is then released as the next Fedora
| release. Development on Rawhide continues
| apace.

Rock it - The first pre-release version of Fedora 13 arrives

,----[ Quote ]
| One week later than scheduled, the Fedora
| Project has released the first and only alpha
| version of its Fedora 13 Linux distribution,
| aka Goddard, which is scheduled for release in
| mid May. With the feature freeze having come
| into effect a month ago, the first pre-release
| version of the distribution, which is being
| advertised under the release slogan "Rock it",
| now contains all major features likely to find
| their way into Fedora 13.

Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux)
