A Look at Gnome Activity Journal
,----[ Quote ]
| As for whether the Activity Journal on its own
| can serve as a true replacement for traditional
| file browsers, Iâm not sure. Currently, itâs
| only really useful for finding files that have
| been accessed in the recent past, and in that
| sense, itâs not necessarily more helpful than
| Nautilus. Finding the files you worked with
| yesterday is always easy enough; the real
| challenge is to come up with a way to organize
| data so that itâs as accessible three years from
| now as it was ten minutes ago.
|
| Features that might help in this regard are
| searching and tagging, which are also in
| progress. Again, this functionality is already
| abundantly provided by other utilities, but
| combining it with a heavily chronological
| approach to data organization could prove to be
| very useful.
