Gallium3D Anti-Aliasing (MSAA) Is Going In

,----[ Quote ]
| As implied by its name, the gallium-msaa
| branch introduces support for Multi-
| Sampling Anti-Aliasing (MSAA) for the
| Gallium3D driver architecture.
| Specifically this branch makes the
| structural changes needed to allow MSAA
| to work within Mesa on the Gallium3D
| architecture and a context function to
| set the sample mask for MSAA. However,
| the Gallium3D hardware drivers themselves
| haven't yet been hooked-in to actually
| offer multi-sampling support. Hopefully
| this will come soon.

AROS (The Free AmigaOS) Gets With Gallium3D

,----[ Quote ]
| A $600 bounty came around a while back
| within the AROS (AROS Research Operating
| System) community to port Gallium3D and the
| Nouveau driver to this operating system that
| is a free software implementation of the
| AmigaOS 3.1 APIs.

Amiga on Ubuntu

,----[ Quote ]
| There are two methods of getting Amiga on Ubuntu.
| Method two, is good old emulation using E-UAE. to emulate the Amiga. E-UAE is
| fantastic, and if you have an Amiga Rom and startup disks you can get a
| pretty good working version of the OS going. However, this defeats the whole
| purpose of trying to port Amiga games over to Ubuntu, and what one really
| wants is some form of Amiga emulation layer, or a binary library like WINE,
| so that Amiga apps can run on Ubuntu.

A new version of AmigaOS

,----[ Quote ]
| At the time of writing, Hyperion is still in the middle of a lawsuit brought
| by the company that contracted the development of the OS, Amiga Incorporated.
| The lawsuit hinges on the original OS4 development contract, signed in the
| wake of the dotcom crash of 2001, when Amiga Inc. had lost its funding and
| did not appear to be financially viable going forward. The deal specified
| that if Amiga Inc. were to declare bankruptcy, Hyperion Entertainment (which
| prior to the development of OS4 specialized primarily in porting games from
| Windows to the Mac, Amiga, and Linux) would gain full control of the rights
| to the OS.

Version: GnuPG v1.4.10 (GNU/Linux)
