I should add: 2 years ago someone informed me that Microsoft had sacked
Phelps for failing to extort Red Hat (Microsoft's real target). Later
it seemed like he wasn't quite fired, he just worked on a propaganda
book along with Microsoft colleagues (including Bill Gates). The book was
intended to scare vendors into paying Microsoft for patents it won't 
name.

Microsoft is tomorrow's SCO. What will be Microsoft's new shell?
Microsoft Licensing was set up recently. It's not about products
anymore, just coercion.
