Apple is a fruit, Linux is an animal (Penguin/Gnu), Microsoft is... well,
lifeless. Apple derives its value from the expectation that people's
friends would be jealous of one's i<something>. When the 'i' stuff
is demonstrated to be of inferior quality, people will stop paying premiums
as it would no longer have the effect of attaining status.
