My wife's Win98 machine was getting horribly slow, so my wife was using
my account on the Linux box to do webmail, because it was much faster.
However, one time we got into a big argument because she kept bitching
about the autoraise functionality on my fluxbox desktop. Then she
started griping about "that moving thing" irritating the hell out of
her... that was gkrellm. The argument escalated as I explained to her
that I could set up her own account with a secure password and a more
Windows look and feel. The argument ended with her yelling, "I want
Windows!!!" Sheesh.
She was also looking at Dell ads for a new system, which was fine with
me so she could have a faster, better system.
But then they gave me a new laptop at work, and when she saw it, she
said "Great! You can give me your other laptop!" We argued about that
for awhile. It's sitting in our daughter's empty room, and I set it to
boot to Windoze by default.
But, all is not bad. I'm in the middle of installing Debian on the work
laptop (dual-boot). But that is a story for another time.
