Comprehension of the importance of the GPL is increasing massively at
work now. I'm getting called to present to our most senior strategists
now to describe the commercial models, licensing implications and
economic value chain around open source projects which we can use both
internally and in externally vended products, both hosted and
appliantised. It is a far cry from the early days, when the corporate
position was essentially that GPLed stuff just wasn't very good. It's
been an extremely long road, but ultimately rather rewarding, and I hope
it long continues.
