Much of that is inhereited from Apple Macs. :-)
Always find the trail back to the source. A company that popularises a
technology is not necessarily its inventor. Word is not the holy grail of
word processing. Same with Excel, DOS, BASIC, Windows-based UIs and Web
browsers.
