IDC showed shippings _on the rise_. BTW, these "Vista licences" are mainly XP.
It's a lie, an embellishment. A lot of PCs are even shipped without an O/S
(especially in China where Linux preinstalls/no-OS are very common) and the
same goes for servers. Machines that are recycled and reused cannot run Vista.

The quote above comes from Mary Jo Foley. She used to keep track of people who
quit Microsoft, but she hasn't done this for a very long time. I wonder if
she's too afraid at this stage about showing how Microsoft is collapsing from
the inside. The same goes for Joe Wilcox and Ina Fried by the way. They
shelter Microsoft amid hard times. They see what's coming and it puts their
careers in jeopardy.
