Neurology to Serve Image Data?

The following story from the CNN is sci-fi-obsessed and is intended to serve a broad audience. It nonetheless makes a mentioning of interesting work, which rather than interpret images, attempts to synthesise something raw from our brainwaves. In turn, such visual data can be interpreted.
"A team of neurology experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) say they have deciphered brain waves used in the recognition of visual images."
