The weakest part of the Palm is it’s OS. If you need a simple organizer for names addresses and schedualing these days it’s built into your cell phone. What we need are true pocket computers to navigate and shuttle the data we generate on our desktops. Until they get it through their heads that standards like JPEG, RTF, Doc, HTML, PDF, Etc… don’t belong to AN application, but must be accesesible by any aplication that can run on the system, Palm will continue to loose market and fail.

My Tungsten C is all the computer I need in my pocket. It’s just crippled by the crapiest OS on Earth.

With the discounted packages i’ve been seeing on the T5 with an included WiFi card, i wouldn’t be surprised if there is a T5+ revision coming soon with WiFi built in. Wishful thinking, perhaps.

Love my T3 to death (the dents in the case prove it) very disappointed with the lack of leap forward in the T5. It was long time for not much so a new improved so early is not so unusual. If they can interface i-tunes & an ethernet connection??? screw the camera I’ll be updating anyway. now if only I could get a bose speaker set like the ipod???

PalmOS is dead, until PalmSource won’t implement complete Unicode support.
All these excellent features are useless, if you cannot read unicode websites and mail. The reason of Windows Mobile superiority is unbeatable international support combined with simplicity. And since I’m not American, and use at least four languages (Russian, English, Ukrainian and Japanese) – that plays a role…

That’s exactly what I feared when I first read the rumours. One of the powers of Palm PDA’s is that they last many years (for most).

Sorry, but it’s not going to happen. Palm stated at the end of 2004 that they would not release a Cobalt device in 2005 and had no definite plans for 2006. They said that the amount of work to bring the extra apps (web browser, email, etc.) up to the OS6 feature set is significant. So I would say that any rumor involving OS6 devices form PalmOne this year a just wishful thinking.
