s expected, tonight it’s about 20 degrees outside, feels like some sort of subtropical summer at nighttime. It’s hard to complain, as it feels pleasant, but at the same time it is atypical and another glaring sign of climate change.

Lately I’ve seen way too many slop boosters (basically cheering for a large contributor to climate change) and nearly no press coverage at all regarding climate change.

The Web is crooked, the media seems dead, and nowadays I scroll very fast past sites and headlines, seeing lots of them are junk and chaff, not news.

We should speak about climate change as much as we speak of Russia.

oday the baby birds are sleeping a lot. They hang around and fall asleep (eyes shut) in numerous places, waiting for the next meal.

The other night we caught them sleeping and staying overnight at the windows. We don’t mind. They need safety and this place is quite safe for them (unlike construction sites).

The baby birds (two of them) don’t have names yet. If they stick around long enough, they probably will need names (it makes communications about them easier).

eptember ends tomorrow and today it’s mild. It’ll be 20 or 21 degrees at night (tomorrow) and 23 degrees today (daytime).

This is not how it used to be. September can still be warm, but we’re now at the end of September.

The media treats climate change like it’s old news or some boring topic.

here are just 30 hours left before this month’s last day and the latest weather forecast predicts temperatures over 20 for October.

This latest year has been unseasonably warm in summer and there’s no reason to suspect that will stop given the growing pollution levels and unwillingness to curb emissions.

People who live in already-hot countries will suffer more, but extreme colds are another phenomenon.

I am not seeing much press coverage about climate change anymore.

recently added several more birds to the feeding cycle, especially young ones. We must nourish them for autumn, then winter. Sometimes they hang around me when I sunbathe, so I can’t say “no”. They are demanding.

We’ve stocked up enough food for them to last until Christmas. Same for the fish, as all new fish are doing OK, I hope for 12 months to come (like the last time). The critical period passed for environmental adaptation and they have a lot of food.

But technology isn’t needed there. The article seems to be promoting gadgets, i.e. part of the core problem.

think it was in May of this year (early or mid May) that we ‘branched out’ the fish tank to another one, a shells-dedicated tank. It has since then expanded to a much bigger tank, which I found discounted by about 96% (lower than RRP), it just needed a lot of cleaning and sanitising. Today, two weeks after we added some danios and testas, we can easily see they have grown and have become accustomed to their new environment. We initially had a couple of cardinals, but they could not survive the conditions, I’m not sure why (maybe pH level, but probably something else; size could be a factor, they are very fine). Unlike last year, no fish just mysteriously ‘vanished’.

At the moment I am chasing a heater, as noted some months ago, and look for something that costs a pound or a couple of pounds. I saw about 4 in-water heater this past Sunday (a vendor I know and knows me too), but those were too powerful and way too expensive. We still have some time to go before it gets too cold for tropical fish.

Maybe we can crowdfund this.

t’s another weekend and next weekend will be the month’s last. It is autumn now. Europe is having torrential rain, Spain has floods, and the rain here barely stops (for more than an hour or two). That’s the sort of rain we needed in July and August but seldom saw.

Climate change is annoying. What annoys me more is the lack of press coverage about it or how scarcely this term is mentioned when covering floods/avalanches, for instance.

I do my best to write and relay news about it. Keeping it in the public mind/awareness is very important.

We’ve lessened our power bills to the point where they’re below 70 pounds a month. We garden.

think that Edwin came indoors about 4 times today, more than in prior days. He was looking for seeds, he reckons he can get more of them when he gets close to me. Sometimes he sits on the doorknob, hoping to get my (or Rianne’s) attention.

Edwin is always last and sometimes first. Even in late September he’d stay until almost 7PM (6:57 today) and he can show up the following day at around 6-7AM.

The birds are good companions and they’re clean as long as they don’t do their “dirt” indoors.

Another bird, still unnamed, likes to sit on the window at the front and has zero fear of humans. It insists strongly on getting a jar of seeds.

I’ve not been writing much about birds lately. Tomorrow we plan to feed 70+ of them in the park. Weather permitting.

when birds can’t be heard because of the noise, when bees are gone,
when plants won’t grow and multiply for lack of water and pollination,
when animals, even humans, perish without food, water and oxygen,
what will be left to realize there was no intelligence in this foolish pursuit?
