Nina Simone presents the soul of a depressed and hurt person. Ella Fitzgerland is a bit reminiscent of this style, but not usually so. Most of the songs from Nina Simone that I like tend to be quicker and somewhat happier. Amongst your collection of hers, I did like The House Of The Rising Sun and I Want A Little Sugar In My Bowl. Other ones that I have liked for a much longer while are:
Here Comes The Sun
Feeling Good
Mr. Bojangles and My Way (not originally hers of course)
Solitude (With Ella and Billie)
I have been trying to get some old tunes from Edward White, but was unsuccessful in Kazaa. Any suggestions? Does the name ring a bell at all?
Roy
