Yes, you will need to log in as root. If you can't find a front-end like
Yast or Sax that will henerate the code for you, then go to
/etc/X11/XF86Config
and find the header under the 'screen' section that defines your screen
resolution. Make sure you make a back-up copy of XF86Config before you
change it so that you can revert to the previous settings whenever you fail.
