I had a problem with Firefox 1.0 yesterday (I'm running Win2K if it's
relevant) where it would open up then crash immediately even on my
homepage (google.co.uk) and give me a message suggesting that
something was being written to an error log. I was trying to find
where that was to see what the problem might have been. It seems to
have resolved itself today but it would be useful to have a peek anway
(and for future reference).
Not a direct answer, but there's a freeware program around called
filemon that monitors and logs file operations under win*. Useful for
hunting down those odd unknown files.
