You might successfully solve this by downloading FileZ 6.2
(www.freewarepalm.com/utilities/filez.shtml). It will allow you to access
program files at a lower level and hopefully delete these culprits that
show the icons. You can also change data and preferences through FileZ, but
you ought to be careful when doing this...
