So, what actually is the point then of having password protection, if
it wont protect??

Mine has a 'hard drive' password, which (I hope) gives some kind of
chance if it's nicked and it's taken to bits (as above) or put in
another machine. Should I just write the passwords down on a sticker
and stick it on the lid to save Mr Toerag the trouble??
