They do. What they don't do is get OEM's to install that OS on their PC's. I
suspect that if Apple were to release OSX for the PC it would open people
up to realizing that there are alternatives to Windows, much better
alternatives. Linux would just as likely be able to slipstream in behind
it.
I suspect that it won't happen. For some reason, Apple appears to be afraid
to go head to head with Microsoft. Maybe Apple should start pushing ODF and
OO.o as a way of freeing themselves from the Microsoft shackels.
