It had to happen, didn't it? In spite of all the efforts of Microsoft
to hide the statistics regarding security, for example, by adding up
*all* patches to *all* distros and comparing the count with that of just
the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office, but bundling all the
patches into one enormous set per week, and by trying to make a virtue
of making people wait for patches, the wider world was, in the end, not
fooled. It would appear that there truly is a limit to the
effectiveness of "The big lie". It will only work for so long, and as
long as you may not stop the truthful amongst us spreading the honest
word, then the truth will out.

This particular truth being that, of the many advantages offered by
open-source, improved security is certainly one of them, at least when
compared with Microsoft, and history has shown this also to be true even
when compared with many technically competent OS vendors, too.

The IBM 2250 is impressive ...
if you compare it with a system selling for a tenth its price.
