Ridiculous.  Certainly, some parts of Mono, such as the Winforms
implementaiton are not part of the ECMA or ISO standard, but the parts that
are cannot be subject to Intellectual Property lawsuits because Microsoft
has issued an irrevocable covenant not to sue for that.
