Hi,
Newsgroups are aggregated, not crawled, so Google will be served with data in
almost real-time. Messages do not always appear immediately; at least so I
once heard.
To attract more visits to your newsgroup, ensure it has a good and meaningful
address (if it can still be altered, which is unlikely). That aside, the
higher the volume of messages, the more likely the content is to intersect
with search queries. This explains why moderators/owners often post in
excess.
