I don't think that kde-look.org and gnome-look.org contain any animated icons
because I have never come across any. However, SuSE (or KDE rather) comes
with many animated pixmaps for the mouse pointers.

Thanks for your reply Roy, but it is not exactly what I was looking for. I'm not looking to create icons, and the current icons that I'm using seem to be *.png files. I've done some searching and apparently mng and apng are the formats that seem to support animation though they haven't been fully adopted.


This leaves me confused about the red hat icon I saw... what type of file was it? where was/is it? Are there other icons like these available?
