I actually ditched my laptop in favour of a PDA last year. I recall this
rather well because this had me reach (via an anonymous submitter) the front
page of PalmAddict. And that's how my connection with Sam Mclaughlin began.
PDA's are becoming more like computers, but it's hard to predict where, when
and how TV's, laptops, desktops, PDA's, consoles (e.g. PS3) and phones will
converge. Laptop already oversell desktop machines in the States. Who would
have thought about it a decade ago?
Linux has good presence in all the above appliances. Windows and TV are still
a bit of an oxymoron, despite Media Centre and IPTV, which began in France
quite recently.
