This is probably an anti-trust issue.
Micoshaft is a monopoly and if they start specifying patented
hardware to work with their software then its bad news for
all independent hardware manufacturers who will then be required
to license that patented feature even if alternatives exist.
Manufacturers should seek urgent
redress with the EU and other competition authorities.
