Tried it, didn't work.
(and no, it's not a linux issue, it's an idiotic games designer issue. Hard
coding hardware requirements rather than requesting the graphics card
capabilities and tuning to fit)

Doom3 worked on this machine... Didn't run fast enough to play...
But it worked. (so it is possible)
