How popular are Roy's postings in here? My guess, not that popular.

Let's take a look at Roy's Digg profile. Most of the stories he posts
here, he also posts to Digg.

http://www.digg.com/topusers

In the short time Roy has been posting stories to digg, he's already the
22nd top user, with 924 submissions. However, he has the fourth lowest
poularity ranking at a mere 13%. Only 12 of those 924 posts have been
marked popular.

The other three posters have 2015 and 3280, and 3726 total posts and an 8,
8, and 9% popularity respectively. In other words, most of those people
post either stories that have already been posted, or stories that nobody
cares about, or they don't do a good job writing a summary.

What's even more interesting is that out of his 924 posts, only 129
comments have been generated.

The guy in the 21 spot, by contrast, has 123 total posts and 122 of them
popular with a 99% popularity rating and has generated 275 total responses.
The guy in the 20 spot has 124 popular posts out of 711, but has generated
655 comments.

What does all this mean? Digg doesn't seem to care much for most of what
Roy spews. My guess is that COLA would have similar numbers if you could
accurately poll it.

My problem with roy is not that he's posting articles to COLA, it's that
he's posting 90% crap that nobody has any interest in, and he's flooding
the newsgroup, which has the very real effect of pushing non-Roy content
off of the majority of news servers out there..

But hey, if you guys want this newsgroup to be an RSS feed, then I guess
that's your call.
