You gotta love how they complain about the price of the origami, then
praise devices 2x as expensive, such as the OQO and Sony UX. The argument
that a low-end laptop is cheaper ignores the fact that a low-end laptop is
not a portable writing device.
The fact is, even the Samsung Q1 is significantly cheaper than the cheapest
tablet PC, and provides a far more mobile form factor and convenience. The
only real hit is the battery life, and that's something that is being
addressed.
I predict that even if some companies manage to get a model down to $500,
nobody will want such a stripped down model. For the same price you can
get a pretty loaded Pocket PC. $800 will be a good price point, I think
that balances features and price.
