I used to read Slashdot very regularly. I did so for quite some time in fact,
perhaps polling a dozen times a day. Slashdot has become merely a feed to
have a glimpse at every morning.

In Digg, which is growing extremely quickly, there are more headlines, they
are shorter, the users are more involved and there are no Gods (or
moderators). Fewer trolls too. Every submission gets its chance and the
voting system pushes a submission where it may deem suitable. Digg has
become my favourite after only a few days or use. You can filter syndicated
items by search criteria too, to reduce the load.
