In theory, that could be a big value added for a business to go with a 
Novell and IBM combo.

There is no reason for any company that contracts with them to fix or 
even enhance changes to recycle those back to the "open source pool".

The openess of it ends if they use the changes for internal use 
only...and that's where an individual business can gain a huge 
competitive advantage.
