This happens because they need months and months and months to test
things so the user won't be screwed by a patch to fix a super-dangerous
hole that just sits there for those months and months and months
waiting to be exploited. Every time thye've tried to cut the process
short to, say, 90 days, they've ended up giving incomplete or buggy
patches.
There are only so many employees to keep the place buzzing. What're
they supposed to do, underman the marketing department?
