| "You name it, spyware can do it," says Craig Schmugar, virus research
| manager at McAfee Avert Labs, which monitors Internet threats.
| "Everything from stealing your identity to turning your machine
| into a spam relay machine to popping up ads on your system. It can
| degrade your system performance to the point that using your
| machine is unbearable."

I guess a Linux user's greatest privacy concern are queries, log/HTTP
headers, cookies, and JavaScript (XSS and cookies sharing in particular).
Even /that/ can be conveniently be managed in Mozilla Firefox (many
plugins).
Linux - you watch the network.
Windows - the network watches you.
Mac - encrypt the kernel binaries and phone mother ship every now and them.
BSD - you do what the f--- you want.
