As long as you are a so called *Linux advocate* you can make up anything
you want and the gang will back you up.

In the real world?

Well, that's an entirely different kettle of humans.
Maybe that's why Rex lives in a fantasy world?

Remember in COLA, they actually believe that Linux is taking over the
desktop.

Look around.
Do you see Linux desktops all over the place?
Do you even see one outside a University or laboratory?
Nope.
Mostly the geeks are using it.
