Short answer: try both and see which one suits you better.

Long answer: see the thousands of endless flamewars which discuss the pros
and cons of each.

The matter of fact is that everyone is different. Desktop environments
likewise. There is no perfect (let alone objectively better) desktop
environment. It's a case of "different strokes for different folks". If you
try both rather than blindly choose just one, e.g. based on what somebody
tells you, then you will miss the big(ger) picture.

If you don't want to install and try both (can become laborious), then I
suggest you visit a site like YouTube and watch some videos. Forum threads
that discuss this verbally often miss the most important points that are
best illustrated visually. Screenshots, however, might help as well.
