True. It's a collective punishment where everyone, without exceptions, shares
the burden. In fact, it's likely to promote piracy. People will say that
they already paid UMG some tax money. They will simply retaliate. Same thing
when DRM bites them in the ass (e.g. switching devices and meeting competing
DRM systems). They will retaliate. The system that treats people like
criminal creates a generation of bitter rebels. It may also be why there's s
much violence in prisons, or why a beaten child is likely to become an
abusive spouse/parent.
