There are companies that spend MORE than MS on R&D. There are also
companies that spend LESS. You can use either absolute dollar amounts
or a percentage of revenue and the same will apply.

It's interesting that if MS 'increases' R&D spending then people are
stupid enough to spin that as they are falling behind. Because if they
were to 'decrease' R&D spending then the same people would be spinning
this as MS is giving up.
